Established, long-term, professional relationships lie at the core of what we do. In joining Sports Plus Scheme, you will work alongside an allocated Regional Manager to reflect on the Sport and Physical Education needs of your school and, using our Magic Matrix, identify a tailored package that meets the school’s needs and budget. Through regular contact, our Regional Managers ensure that quality and consistency is provided. Continuity across our provision is key!

Meet Andy Mulligan

Founder & Chief Executive

“I started Sports Plus Scheme with a bag of balls, a set of cones and an idea. That idea was to keep children physically active and healthy. And was fuelled by my own genuine love of sports.

I established Sports Plus Scheme in 2001 with the support of my family and it has remained a family-run business since – my mum still works in the company! Sports Plus Scheme was one of the first sports education providers of its kind, offering multi-sports, bespoke programmes and a range of fun sports activities to meet schools’ needs.

Over the years, we’ve expanded. We now support a nationwide network of schools and recruit a growing team of professional, honest and reliable coaches to work with PE teachers and lead PE provision in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. We employ good people, so we can deploy good people in schools. And our reputation for quality and consistency has enabled us to grow. Yet, our core philosophy remains the same: Sports Plus Scheme is passionate about keeping children active to improve the health and fitness of all children. We aim to make an active lifestyle enjoyable for life.

“Working with Sports Plus Scheme has opened my passion for an array of sports – I eat and breathe sport – and I realise the importance that this has for the primary school children we work with. Physical sport can build confidence, demonstrate a healthy lifestyle and inspire primary school children to keep fit. Some children come alive in physical sport and opportunities in school give them opportunities in life to do and be what they want.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a professional footballer and to work in the sport industry. My college course in Level 2 Football Coaching led me to supporting my sister’s involvement in football. It was then I met Andy Mulligan and joined Sports Plus Scheme. I’ve been with the company for 19 years. Through Sports Plus Scheme, I have developed a love for an array of sports, including Gymnastics, and I strive to be a positive role model and share my passion for sport.”

I started my journey with Sports Plus Scheme 14 years ago, following my goal to be a sports coach and work in the sports industry. Football has always been my passion and I’ve run under 16s and reserve football teams alongside my time as a sports coach. As a Regional Manager for Sports Plus Scheme, I enjoy combining my love of sport with education. I care about the primary school children I work with and with Sports Plus Scheme I can pass my love of sport on to them and teaching staff

Having a background in Sports Coaching Science and Sports Coaching Management led me to joining Sports Plus Scheme 16 years ago. As a Regional Manager, I want to inspire more children to get active and participate in sport. I aim for our relationships with schools to bring enjoyment and fun to PE lessons and for children to understand the importance of a healthy balanced diet. I have always aspired to work in the sports industry and as a Regional Manager for Sports Plus Scheme I can pass on my knowledge and expertise – continuing to enhance PE and Sport across schools

As a self-confessed ‘sports nerd’, I’m enthusiastic about getting more primary school children involved in a variety of sports. I first joined Sports Plus Scheme 16 years ago. My journey working in sport and education led me to establish a network of schools that share a common goal – to enhance Sport and PE provision for all primary school children – across the West London area and expanding into Surrey. I enjoy all sports and have a particular passion for football.
